Ejido Verde creates new sustainable jobs for the marginalized communities of Mexico and promotes one of the country's most vulnerable industries, the resin industry. The project brings together the private sector, general public and different indigenous communities in Mexico. It´s innovative model combines social entrepreneurship, environmental reforestation and conservation of the national heritage. Ejido Verde empower communities to increase their incomes reducing migration problems and promoting the restoration and conservation of forests, as well as cultural identity.

IMPACT

Ejido Verde will generate 600 million dollars of incomes for the local population in the next 30 years, which will also reduce 1 million tons of greenhouse gases.

MISSION

MODEL

Sistema Biobolsa is aimed to empower small and medium farmers, who are responsible for the 80% of the food production worldwide. They operate in 3 levels: technology, education and financing. Sistema Biobolsa manufactures, distributes and installs high quality biodigesters which convert waste into clean-renewable energy and biofertilizer. They complement their technology with a training and financing program as well as a long-term service.

IMPACT

Sistema Biobolsa has managed +4.5 millions of dollars of tons of waste, mitigated more than 62 thousand tons of greenhouse gases and has benefited directly more de 20 thousand people.

MODEL

PROTRASH is a social company dedicated to optimize the recycling industry in Mexico and at the same time help people from low income communities to acquire a monetary value for their recyclable waste.

IMPACT

PROTRASH accesses to the communities by providing environmental training, generating awareness of the problem, as well as waste separation habits at home. In addition, through generating new revenues, Protrash creates an economic accelerator in the communities that generates new habits such as saving incomes. The 6 communities in which they currently work are cleaner.
